There’s a new ride coming to International, Skyfall, and it will be the world’s tallest drop ride, according to Joshua Wallack, managing principal for the attraction.
Wallack said Skyfall will be built inside the Polercoaster, the recently announced vertical roller coaster to be built on 15 acres of land north of Sand Lake Road at International Drive in the SkyPlex entertainment center.
When complete, the Polercoaster will be the world’s tallest roller coaster.
Skyfall will rise 460-plus feet into the air and will seat 16 people at a time. The ride will last about a minute in length, with a 40 second right to the top, and a 10 second drop at 90 miles an hour. As you rise and drop, you will be able to see the Polercoaster riders on the tracks of Skyfall.
Skyfall isn’t the only attraction that Wallack is opening on I-Drive. He is also behind the planned Mango’s Tropical Café, which combines a restaurant, dinner show, and nightclub under one roof. The Miami Beach-based Mango’s Tropical Café is currently under construction south of side of Sand Lake Road.
“It’s a 55,000 square foot Latin style, Latin themed restaurant and nightclub with it’s own parking garage.”
Wallack said he is hopeful that he might get cooperation from state and county officials to build some kind of pedestrian bridge, making it easier to safely navigate from one attraction to another.
